Pregnancy Ultrasounds
We offer canine pregnancy ultrasounds, which can help verify pregnancy and at later stages, determine the number of puppies a female dog is carrying. While pregnancy can also be confirmed through abdominal palpation and X-rays, each method has its own specific time frame and limitations.
Ultrasounds can sometimes confirm pregnancy as soon as 20-22 days after breeding, but are more accurate if taken 30 days post breeding. They do not expose your dog to radiation and can find heartbeats, though accurate puppy counts need to wait until the mother dog is further along in her pregnancy.
