Nutrition

While we in no way want to fat-shame your pet, obesity is becoming a real health issue for companion animals in our country, just like it is for people. The fact is that an estimated 60% of cats and 56% of dogs in the United States are overweight or obese.

It can be easy to overfeed pets, as they can make begging an art form! Every animal’s nutritional needs are different, and those needs also change with life stage. Puppies require different foods than adult animals, and when your pets become seniors, they will likely need something different than when they were younger. Speaking of senior pets, being overweight can cause them serious problems as they get older.

But with so much conflicting information about pet nutrition and so many choices, it can be pretty confusing to know what’s right for your particular pet. We can help! The best way to make sure your pet’s needs are being met is to consult with us about a diet made specifically for his or her lifestyle.
